One address, kept for one purpose, deleted the moment you ask.
This is the whole of it, written plainly. If anything below is unclear, write to [email protected] and ask.
What is collected
If you give your email address to the form on this site, three things are stored: the address itself, the date and time you gave it, and a short label naming which link brought you here — so it is possible to tell whether an advert was worth running.
That is all. No IP address, no device or browser fingerprint, no location. The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from any other company's servers. There is no tracking pixel on this page or on the home page.
What it is used for
To send you one email per finished book, on the day that book goes on sale. Nothing else is sent — no newsletter, no marketing, no discount codes. Your address is never sold, rented, traded or shared.
The legal part
- Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit the form. You may withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it.
- How long it is kept: until you ask for it to be removed, or until the sixth and last book has been published and its announcement sent — at which point the list has done its job and is deleted.
- Where it is kept: in Cloudflare's key-value storage, on the account that runs this site. Cloudflare processes it only to store it.
- Your rights: you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be erased, object to it being held, or ask for it in a portable form. Write to the address below and it will be done — erasure the same week, without argument.
- If you are unhappy: you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. You are encouraged to write here first, but you do not have to.
How to leave
Reply to any email with the word stop, or write to [email protected]. No reason is needed and none will be asked for. Nobody will be offended.

The Isle of the Bound is published by its author under the name Wolfgang Valentine, who is a single person on the Isle of Man and not a company. Everything to do with this site, including any request about your data, reaches him at [email protected].
